At Becca & Jake’s graduation, their valedictorian spoke of the importance of being happy. There is no better advice to give. If 18 year olds can embrace being happy at such a young age, they are in for a long, well-rounded, fulfilled life.
But the magic question is always, how can I be happy?
Today, I read a post from the World Economic Forum that talked about just this. A study by the University of Bristol identified seven “happiness hacks” we all should follow. I’m so excited to see how they mesh with our SAVOUR™️ method:
->Savouring experiences (STEP out of your comfort zone and ALIGN your passions/interests)
-> Being physically active (VENTURE under your own power)
-> Increasing social connections with people you know and don’t know (OPEN to connection)
-> Exploring mindfulness and other meditation techniques (UNWIND with self-care)
And RITUALIZE gratitude and celebration with:
-> Performing acts of kindness
-> Drawing attention to the daily positive events in your life
-> Practicing gratitude and thanksgiving
For those LHS graduates reading this blog post, I challenge you (and all readers), to select at least one of these hacks and make it a habit in your life. We are never to young (or old) to create happiness in our lives!
